Hello, friends! I am excited to share some projects with you that I made with new collections from Spellbinders. The April releases are so much fun, and there is something for everyone. I will be using the Seahorse Kisses Collection, as well as the Stitched Numbers & More Collection for today’s cards.

Spellbinders Promotion!

Spellbinders is currently offering 15% off on orders of $125 or more. It is applied automatically in the cart, so no code is needed. Free shipping on orders of $100 or more. This ends on April 16th.

NOTE: I will have a YouTube video up in the next day or so with all of these cards, so stay tuned! I will update this blog post with a link to that video. You can also subscribe to my channel so that you don’t miss any videos!

My first two cards feature the Seahorse Kisses Collection, and I embraced it fully by pulling out my watercolors. Or at least, I pulled out my water and my brushes. I actually used Distress Inks to watercolor my images today. The shell images, as well as the sentiment, on this first card come from the Seahorse Garden Stamp & Die Set. For the shells, I used the following colors of ink: Pumice Stone, Shabby Shutters, Tea Dye, and Speckled Egg. I ended up bringing in Salvaged Patina, Antique Linen and Twisted Citron to brighten up the colors a bit. For the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks: Tumbled Glass, Salvaged Patina, Antique Linen, and Vintage Photo.

Note: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My second card also features an image from the Seahorse Garden Stamp & Die Set. It also features the amazing new Cast Away 3D Embossing Folder, as well as a sentiment from the Seahorse Kisses Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. Again, I colored the seahorse with Distress Inks. I used Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed, and Twisted Citron. I colored the background with Salvaged Patina and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. I highlighted the details of the 3D netting with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I hot foiled the sentiment with Matte Gold Foil

Now it’s time to play with the Stitched Numbers & More Collection! This collection consists of the Stitched Numbers set and the Stitched Punctuation and Symbols Set. You can also buy these two sets as a bundle to save money. These complement the Stitched Alphabet Collection that was released last year. I decided to have fun with my first card and use the hashtag from the Punctuation and Symbols Set. For my background, I used the Puff Dotty 3D Embossing Folder. The “happy” letters are from the Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet set. I always like to show that you can use these stitching numbers, letters, or symbols without actually stitching them. I also used mine today on both cards without their matching shadow layer.

My next card is special because I made it for my parents, who just celebrated 58 years! I used the Stitched Numbers set and did some basic stitching with my DMC floss. The small, stitched circles in the center of the larger flowers are from the Stitched Punctuation and Symbols set – those are the circles that go at the bottom of the exclamation point or question mark! And speaking of flowers, I used the Be Bold Blooms set. There are a couple smaller flowers that I pulled in from the Mini Blooms and Sprigs set

I hot foiled the sentiment from Yana’s Special Sentiments Hot Foil Plate set with Magenta foil. And speaking of hot foil, did you know that Spellbinders will be hosting a free Glimmer Virtual Workshop? It will be available on May 13th and will be permanently available after that. You can access the workshop when you want. This technique focused workshop is designed to transform a Glimmer newbie into a Glimmer Pro! You can purchase a class kit at a discount if you want to follow along with the products used in the workshop. There is also an Add-on kit for more advanced techniques that are shown towards the end of the workshop.

I hope these cards put a smile on your face today. Be sure to check out all of the new collections that Spellbinders just released. Leave me a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! And be sure to head over to YouTube to watch my video. I hope to see you there!

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
