Hello, friends! I hope that you have all been well. I have been away for awhile, but hopefully I will get myself going again. I went to the Simon Says Stamp Create event in Columbus and had a fabulous time! Now that I’m back, I am trying desperately to clean up my craft room. I’m thinking of calling in reinforcements. Usually, losing scissors or my craft pick is an hourly occurrence. Today, it took me 30 minutes to find my MISTI! In my defense, it was my mini MISTI. But, still…. SIGH

Along with my mission to clean my craft room is my mission to build up my stash of birthday cards. So, I decided to pull out some new-to-me supplies that I bought a few months ago. I like to mash products up on my cards, so today we are using the Layered Party Hats Stencil Set from Pretty Pink Posh, the Bitty Banners die set from Concord & 9th, and the Cake Pops Sentiments and Dies from The Greetery.

Note: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I started by stenciling the Layered Party Hats set to the front of a white A2 card base. There are four stencils in this set and endless ways that you can ink it up. I chose to use pinks, yellows, and mint greens from my Distress Ink collection today. I used the following colors:

  • Squeezed Lemonade
  • Mustard Seed
  • Spun Sugar
  • Kitsch Flamingo
  • Cracked Pistachio
  • Evergreen Bough

For my focal point, I created a party hat using the die from the Bitty Banners Die Set. Because of the stitched detail in the hat, it was easy for me to take a small blending brush and use my two yellow inks to mimic some of the striped hats that I had already stenciled. I mounted the hat onto a small stitched panel that I created from one of my favorite A2 rectangle die sets from My Favorite Things. I also used stencil #4 to add some stars to this little panel.

I created the banner by stamping the sentiment and cutting it out with the matching die from The Greetery. I used the tassels from the Bitty Banners Die Set.

I hope this card puts a smile on your face today, and I hope to be back soon. Wish me luck cleaning my craft room! As always, I really appreciate you visiting today.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
