Hello, friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. I know mine is because my son is coming home today from summer camp! That means that I have to shift from my craft room to my kitchen so that I can finish making his favorite cake pops. Before I do that, I wanted to share several cards that I’ve been working on since Spellbinders released all of their Christmas in July collections the other day.
I have three cards to share today, and they’re all pretty simple. I would call call them CAS cards – clean and simple. But, I don’t know that the dog card is necessarily “clean” – it is a dog after all. So let’s call them cute and simple cards! Or, in the case of the dog, cute and silly!
I do have a new YouTube video sharing the process for these cards. You can CLICK HERE to view on YouTube or watch it below.
NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.
Let’s start with this fun card featuring the “Big Pug” die set. This set actually has a large die that creates the body for the pug, and it’s really easy to make a shaped card with it. I chose to just use the head for my card. I used the fun “Cats and Pugs Accessories” set for the festive glasses. Aren’t those hilarious? The cheer sentiment comes from the new “Christmas Greetings” set which has a ton of sentiments with shadow dies. And finally, the red base of this card is the new “Starshine Background.” I love cover dies that offer subtle texture like this. And, because this die pierces little holes, you can see my white card base peeking through!
Now we’re getting more clean and simple, right? This next card features just one element from the “St. Nick” die set. This is a large die set that has a very tall and detailed Santa, but I just used the dies that create the tree. I thought it would be cute to use the Santa hat on one of the trees. The “merry” comes from that same Christmas Greetings set, and the green base is that same Starshine Background. But, it looks different than the red base on the first card, and that’s because I embossed with the die instead of die cutting with it. I love how it gives a slightly quilted look!
My last card features the sweet “Faux Embroidered Spruce” die. I love this little tree. The sentiment on top is from the new “Handmade Sentiments” die set. I used the “Starshine Background” die, but it looks different yet again. And that’s because I have white card stock behind it, so you don’t see any other color peeking through those holes.
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog!
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
