Hello, friends! I hope you are all doing well. I am excited to share two cards that I made with the Day 12 die set from the Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar. If you don’t want to see the contents of Day 12 yet, then don’t scroll any further! I certainly don’t want to ruin anyone’s surprise!

I have a new video sharing my cards today. You can CLICK HERE to view on YouTube or watch it below.

Surprise! The Day 12 die is an adorable cardinal! For my first card, I stitched the cardinal, along with the pine leaves from Day 8. I also pulled the poinsettias and small leaves from Day 8. Everything on this card was made with the contents of the Advent Calendar itself, along with the 12 Days of Stitchmas Stitch Along Add-on Kit. The Add-on Kit is amazing, as it includes a bunch of card stock, embroidery floss, metallic thread, needles, an exclusive stamp set, embellishments…all in a large mesh bag. I did pull in a couple extra colors of card stock from my stash. And, I used one of my favorite new die sets to create the white panel – the Perfect Touch Rectangles die set.

For my second card, I pulled in additional stitching dies – the j, o, and y are from the Stitched Alphabet Collection. However, I decided to not stitch a thing on this card! I think it’s important to point out that just because a die has stitching holes on it doesn’t mean that you have to stitch it. I think stitching holes create fabulous texture and detail all on their own. And I honestly don’t know which bird I love more – the stitched one or the unstitched one. Let me know in the comments below which one is your favorite!

This card also gave me the opportunity to go digging in my stash for some small Christmas greenery. This is the time of year when I always seem to get the most use out of my stash, and that’s a good feeling!

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog!

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
