UPDATE! As of November 11, 2024, the October Large Die of the Month “Cozy Toes Slippers” is now available to non-club members in regular inventory! The Small Die of the Month “Festive Friends” is also available in the Spellbinders store!! Yay!
Hello, friends! I hope you are enjoying your weekend, and I hope you all got to enjoy World Card Making Day! I certainly enjoyed it, especially since I got to play with my new favorite die set. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I am completely addicted to the October Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders. This kit is full of cute and cozy vibes. I also just started playing with the Small Die of the Month, which is so adorable, as well.
As you already know, I love Spellbinders clubs. One of my favorite aspects of the their clubs is that you can cancel at any time. If you don’t like the club kit next month, just cancel it! The subscription window for new members ends on the 27th of the month, assuming that the club kit(s) has not already sold out. One of the other great benefits to being a club member is that you have early access to new products before they become available to the general public! You also get bonus offers and certain discounts that are only available to club members.
If you’re a fan of all (or even most) of the clubs, you might be interested in the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club. This club is offered at an exceptional value and includes all ten clubs PLUS a bonus item. For October, the bonus item is the “Fuzzy Feelings BetterPress Plate Set” which has some fun sentiments that go perfectly with this month’s clubs.
For today’s cards, I will be featuring the Large Die of the Month and the Small Die of the Month. I have a new video sharing my cards. You can CLICK HERE to view on YouTube or watch it below.
NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.
The October Large Die of the Month is called “Cozy Toes Slippers,” and there are so many fun little characters to decorate the slippers with. For my first card, I used the Santa dies from the set. Notice how I used a pom-pom and some felt for the hat. One thing that I love about this month’s kit is that I got to pull out all sorts of patterned paper to make these pajama pants! By the way, I live in pajama pants, so that is one reason why I adore this kit. This first card features some patterned paper from Doodlebug, which has just about the cutest paper you can find. I also loved being able to use all sorts of fun winter sentiments from my stash. The sentiment on this card comes from the Santa’s Sippin’ Sayings set.
My second card features the reindeer dies, and you can see that I used some red glitter card stock for the noses. I also made a little scene on this card by creating a floor and a baseboard. The wood floor is paper from the Wood Textures Paper Pack from Craft Consortium. I used a sentiment strip die to create the baseboard, but you could just cut a strip of paper with a trimmer. I again used the Santa’s Sippin’ Sayings stamp set for my sentiment. For the sentiments on these first two cards, I just stamped with black pigment ink, trimmed them down, and then glued them to a slightly larger color strip. I think they stand out a bit more against the patterned pajamas with those color borders. Speaking of the pajamas, this plaid paper is from an old pack from My Favorite Things. I can’t tell you how many different plaid packs I have from MFT!
My next card features the adorable penguin dies with earmuffs. For the earmuffs, as well as the slippers, I used Pop-Up Die Cutting Glitter Foam Sheets from Spellbinders. How cute is that?! The pink panel with the fun detailed border is from the Perfect Touch Rectangles die set. Notice how I am using solid color card stock for all of my backgrounds today. I really just wanted a clean background for my patterned paper to pop against. For the sentiment on this card, I found the perfect stamp from the Fuzzy Hugs set from Mama Elephant. I stamped it onto a tag that I created from the Essential Tags die set. The cute polka dot paper is from an old Honey Bee paper pack called Back to Basics.
My last card is actually the first one that I made, and you can see how the legs on this card are different from the others. I kind of prefer the look of the other cards. I should have mentioned this in my video, but when you assemble the pajama pants with the leg and sock pieces, it fills the vertical length of an A2 card perfectly. You can see that on my first two cards. The cute sentiment on this card comes from the “Snowman Hugs Faces & Sentiments” set from Stampendous. I again used a tag from the Essential Tags set. The pajamas feature one of my favorite wintertime paper packs – the Knit Picky pack from Lawn Fawn.
This last card features the Small Die of the Month, which is called “Festive Friends.” This set is so adorable, and I have plans for more cards, especially because that little penguin is so versatile! I again used the Knit Picky paper pack from Lawn Fawn because it just made the perfect sweater for this bear. The sentiment was a must, and it perfectly describes the kits this month! This is actually a BetterPress plate that I hot foiled with my favorite black opaque foil. It is from the “Magic Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set.”
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. Leave me a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison

These cards are fantastic, Allison! I simply can’t choose a favorite. I can’t wait for mine to arrive so I can start playing. Happy crafting!
Thank you so much, Mindy! I appreciate you visiting my blog. I hope you have as much fun playing with your kit as I have.
These are super-cute and can be used w/o the legs, too. Love the “pajamas” you chose. Superb use of patterned paper.

Thank you so much, Lori! I do think that is one of the great things about this kit – all of the adorable little characters can be used on their own.
