Hello, friends! I am thrilled to be participating in the DieCember® 2024 Blog Party for Simon Says Stamp!  Get ready for a month long celebration of all things die cutting! Simon Says Stamp has kicked off the festivities by releasing their own collection of products – you can see the new release HERE. While it may sound like it’s all about dies, there are many other goodies, as well. I know that I usually try to have a video up for releases, but November threw a few unexpected curveballs, so I haven’t been able to spend the much-needed time that videos require. In the meantime, I have pictures of my cards and brief descriptions below.

As part of the celebration, Simon is offering an exclusive promotion. See the graphic above for the Fancy Ornaments embossing folder and die set. This will automatically be added to your cart that contains $100 or more of DieCember® release products. No code is needed. This offer is only valid for today, December 1st, until 11:59 ET.

Remember that this is a blog party! For a list of all the amazing designers who are participating, head over to the Simon Says Stamp blog.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

Today, I am sharing two cards that feature the new Postage Collage Cover Die set. This was a 2-For-1 idea that worked out pretty well! I first used the main die in the set to cut a piece of white card stock. I set the stamp shaped cutouts aside and then used the large white diecut as a stencil! I placed it over another white panel and used three shades of pink Distress Oxide to color the openings. You can see that I blended the colors (Worn Lipstick, Saltwater Taffy, and Spun Sugar) on a diagonal. I then took three of the stamp-shaped cutouts that I had set aside, and I stamped some images from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set. I still love this set so much! I also stamped some words from the Simple Holiday Greetings stamp set onto these cutouts. I colored the images with my Copic markers and popped them up on the panel with foam squares.

For my sentiment, I used the new Reverse Joy EZ Strips. I cut this “Christmas” sentiment out with the new EZ Strips Rectangles Die. The die cuts out all of the EZ Strips at once, eliminating the need to cut the strips with a paper trimmer. I stamped the “I’ll be gnome for” sentiment with black pigment ink directly onto the card panel and then added the EZ Strip “Christmas” below it. I did add a white snowflake to the panel. This is the Aidan Snowflake, from an older release.

For this second card, I used the die that I had used as a stencil for the first card. Thus, the 2-For-1! You can see the same diagonal gradation of those Distress Oxide colors. I added this die to a Kraft A2 card base. I then used the smaller dies that come in the Postage Collage Cover Die set and cut little white stamps to add to the inside of the cutout areas on the card panel. On top of each of these white stamps, I added a little gingerbread man from the Holiday Baking Essentials die set that was part of the Festive Fun Release last month. I also added the spoon and rolling pin from that set. The sentiment on this card comes from the Simple Holiday Greetings stamp set. I used one of the small dies from the Postage Collage Cover set and a little bit of partial die cutting to get this black stamp long enough to fit my sentiment.

I wanted to include this last card because, although I plan to have a video sometime soon showing how I made it, I don’t know how soon that will be! And I absolutely love how it turned out. This card features the new Winter Cardinal die. You can probably tell that I created the background with some shimmer powders. The design that you see is a result of swiping VersaMark ink onto the raised areas of the Sparkling Facets Embossing Folder. This is an older folder but still one of my favorites! By swiping those raised edges with VersaMark before embossing my paper, I was able to heat emboss those areas with white embossing powder. Those areas then resist the shimmer powders. The other elements on this card include the Large Joy die and the Etched Berry Branch die. The black subsentiment is from that new Reverse Joy EZ Strips  which I again cut out with the EZ Strips Rectangles Die.

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. Be sure to check out all of the inspiration from the other designers who are participating in the Blog Party. Remember that you can find a list on the  Simon Says Stamp blog. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog today.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
