Hello, friends! I hope you are all doing well. I am still making Christmas cards because…well, I’m a little behind. But more importantly, I have some new products that I have been trying to find time to play with! This card features the Hey Honeycomb Penguin from The Greetery. This is a really fun interactive card to give someone. Isn’t it just adorable?

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

For my card, I first created a bit of a faux snow globe look by cutting an arch into my white card panel. I then adhered the white panel on top of a piece of patterned paper. This paper is from an older pack from Doodlebug. The basic penguin shape and details are super easy to put together. If you want to send this card in an envelope, the Hey Honeycomb Basics die set is great. It gives the honeycomb ball a base to sit on, as well as that half circle that sits on top of the unfolded honeycomb ball. I used sentiments from the Hey Honeycomb Sentiments stamp set to stamp the “instructions” for what the recipient should do when they receive the card. The little star on the left is actually double-sided adhesive. I used the star from the Hey Honeycomb Basics to cut it out from a thin adhesive sheet.

Once the recipient peels the top off of the adhesive star and unfolds the honeycomb ball, the other side of the ball sticks and the resulting card is such an adorable surprise! The sentiment at the bottom is from Mama Elephant.

By the way, this penguin would also make a great ornament! The Greetery just released an adorable bear and snowman along with the penguin, and there are several other non-Christmas products in the Hey Honeycomb series. I just bought the bear and the ice cream cone set that I’m looking forward to playing with!

I hope this card brings a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog today.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison

  1. Super cute penguin card. Isn’t it funny how everything old is new again. I have a lot of old stamps that go with the old “honey pop” honeycomb paper — but no dies. I think I’ll be shopping for some. Merry Christmas Allison and thanks for a great year of inspiration. FYI: I just made a dozen cards using the Spellbinders Cozy Toes dies inspired by your video/blog. I had a ball — they are super cute. Thanks again.
