Hello, friends and happy Saturday! I am very happy that it’s the weekend because I had a big presentation to give at work yesterday, and now that it’s over, I can get back to crafting! I had these cards that I planned to share yesterday for Valentine’s Day, but time got away from me. These are really cards that can be given for any occasion, which is what I prefer anyway.

I used the following products from the new  Just Sayin’ Collection  from Spellbinders:

In addition, I used a sentiment from the Sneaking a Kiss die set, which was the Small Die of the Month from December 2023. This die set is now available outside of the clubs and is currently on sale as part of the Spellbinders “Sweetheart Sale.” This sale includes products up to 50% off and lasts until tomorrow, February 16, 2025 at 11:59 MST. Don’t forget that there is usually always a Clearance Shop on the Spellbinders site, as well, with deals of up to 70% off.

Speaking of deals, you probably notice that I always include links to Simon Says Stamp and Scrapbook.com in the thumbnails at the end of my blog posts. You can save $5 off your next Simon Says Stamp order by using code “WLD4U“. And for this weekend, Scrapbook.com is offering free shipping on orders of $75 or more, using code “FREESHIPPING“. This offer ends Monday, January 20th, at midnight MST.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I showed this fun Pieced Heart die in my last video but hadn’t found a chance to use it yet. I am now showing two different ways that I used it. Technically, I am showing four ways because there are two different ways to create the pieces, and there are two different ways to create a card. For this card, I chose to cut every separate piece from a different color of card stock. I then used the outline die to create a shaped card. To create the shaped card, I simply cut a second heart from white card stock and scored a line at the top to create a hinge. I then added some Scor-tape to the hinge and adhered my finished panel on top. By the way, this is the card that features the sentiment dies from that Sneaking a Kiss die set that is currently on sale. This card was so easy to make, and I love how it turned out!

For this card, I cut the Pieced Heart pieces from one piece of card stock that I had ink blended before cutting. The ink blend is pretty subtle, probably more subtle than I intended. Remember that inks always dry back to be lighter than your initial inking! You can see the three different shades of ink that I used a little bit better on the tiny hearts. I used Cherry Blossom, Peony and Begonia from Pinkfresh Studio.

Instead of making a shaped card, I glued these pieces straight onto a card base. You may remember from my video how I showed you how large this die is. This is an A2 sized card, so I trimmed off the parts of the heart that were hanging off the side and bottom. One thing that doesn’t really show up in the photo very well is that I popped up every other piece to give it dimension. The second, fourth and sixth pieces (from the left) are popped up onto two extra layers of card stock. It looks really cool in real life – hopefully it comes across in the photo. There are ephemera sets that are part of the new Just Sayin’ Collection, but I found the perfect little sentiment in a different ephemera set – the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Sentiment Bits & Pieces set. I glued this “you & me” sentiment to a black “ticket” die that I cut from the new Punctuation & Icons set. This is also the set where I got the arrow and the hearts on this card. For the arrow, I just cut it in half and glued one half at the bottom of the ticket and the other half at the top. This gives the illusion of a longer arrow! To finish the card, I added some fun black & white twine on the side. This is yet another simple card, but again, the dimension in person is really special.

That’s it for my projects today. I hope they put a smile on your face! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
