Hello, friends and happy Friday! I was hoping to have these cards ready earlier in the week, but “someone” forgot that it was spring break for the kids this week. Do I remember anything anymore? Not really! I did manage to pull it all together, so today I have a bunch of cards featuring patterned paper. They all have one thing in common. They were all inspired by one product – the film strip die from the new My Life In Pictures Die Set from Spellbinders. This is part of the new Rosies’s Studio Golden Afternoon Collection. I found all sorts of patterned paper and ephemera from my stash that went perfectly with this collection, and I really had a lot of fun being inspired.

Let’s start with the card that I introduced at the end of my last video, which features all the cuties from the Little Smiles Collection. I found this adorable background paper in the Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe 12×12 Collection Kit. I love this paper so much, that I just placed an order for the smaller pack so that I can have it in the smaller scale, as well. I added the animals to the filmstrip die, which I cut from an off-white card stock. The sweet, little sentiments come from the Reverse Happy Sentiment Strips from Simon Says Stamp.

Next, let’s look at this adorable card featuring products from the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection.  I selected two different papers from the 12×12 Collection Kit, both of which feature classic scenes from the books. I used some Distress Inks (Antique Linen and Wild Honey) to add some color and shading to both the background and filmstrip images. I also found some adorable ephemera in the collection to make this the perfect card to send to a friend.

This next card features the new Golden Afternoon 6×6 paper pad that comes in the Rosie’s Studio collection. I used the Scribbled Letter Embossing Folder to add even more interest to the background. Definitely try embossing your patterned paper – it really adds something fresh and new! Along with the filmstrip die, I added several pieces of ephemera to this card. The new Golden Afternoon Collection has its own ephemera and embellishments, but I found that the Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Collection is perfectly matched, with lots of ephemera featuring cameras, polaroids, etc. The Polaroid piece on this card actually comes from a 12×12 piece of paper from the Collection Kit, and I stamped my own sentiment onto the bottom. I love the soft, muted look of this card.

Let’s move onto another fun card featuring the film strip die. This time, I colored some of the adorable images from Simon Hurley’s Ranger Space Friends stamp set. I used my OLO markers to color both the images and the outside of the images so that each frame of the filmstrip would have that bold pop of color. Again, I found perfectly matched patterned paper – this time from the Just Sayin’ 6 x 6 Paper Pack. The fun stars in this paper really tie in with those space images. I also found a piece of ephemera from that Just Sayin’ collection to fit my sentiment. The little stars that I die cut using the Punctuation & Icons set finished this card in the best way.

I have one last card which features more paper and ephemera from the Just Sayin’ Collection. This time, I used the smile word die and shadow that comes with the My Life In Pictures set. The little heart and hashtag were cut using dies from the Punctuation & Icons set.

That is it for my projects today! I hope they bring a smile to your face, and I hope you feel inspired to go play with some of your patterned paper. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
