Hello again, friends! I am excited to be sharing some cards that I have made with the new You Are My Favorite Release  from Simon Says Stamp. There is a lot of floral and vintage vibes in this release, but as you’ll see from my cards, there’s fun to be had, as well. I have three cards and a sneak peek at a really fun design that I’ll be sharing with you next week.

Note: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first card features the new Receding Squares Stencil. This stencil is a fun surprise, as once you add color using one side of the stencil, you just flip it over to create the design! And this is just one of many possible designs. For the first side, I used Salvaged Patina and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink. I inked these colors in alternating diagonal lines. Once I flipped the stencil over, I used Mustard Seed and Twisted Citron, again in alternating diagonal lines. For all of my inking, I went very light to keep the colors in pastel tones. I trimmed my panel down and adhered it to a Fog Gray card base.

To embellish the panel, I used the fun Whirl Blossom dies. I blended each flower with one of the inks that I used on my panel. The leaves are from the Grand Corner Leaves set. I added a complementary sequin to the middle of each flower. For my sentiment, I used the Happy Faces stamp set. Sadly, I just discovered that this set has been retired. If you do already own the stamp set, the matching dies are still available.

My second card features the adorable I Love You a Bunch Stamp Set. I stamped and then colored the bunny with my Copic markers in the following colors: E40, E41, E43, E44, R00, R20, R22, R24, YG01, YG03, YG17. I then fussy cut the bunny. This set does have matching dies if you don’t like fussy cutting. Next, I stamped a white panel with the Leaf Edges Cling Stamp. This cling stamp is a pull apart set, so there are two sets of leaves to choose from, which I love. I colored the leaves with the YG03 marker. I stamped my sentiment from the I Love You a Bunch set, but I cut the sentiment into two pieces so that I could put the “Bunch” on a separate line. YES, you can and should cut your sentiment stamps if and when you want a different look! You can always put them back together to stamp in the original layout.

To create the green frame, I started with a panel that I cut using the largest die from the Postage Stamp Edge Frames. To create a frame, all you have to do is use a smaller rectangle die. There is a new A2 Rectangles Die Set in the release, which is great because it ensures that your margins will always be in proportion to an A2 card. The die I used from that set is also in proportion to the Postage Frame die. I added the framed panel to a Kraft card base, which I had also stamped with the Leaf Edges stamp. I used VersaMark ink for that, just to give a subtle, tone on tone look.

My next card features the new Fresh Sprigs Embossing Folder. I first cut a panel of watercolor paper with my Tim Holtz Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer and then ran it through my die cutting machine in the embossing folder. I used my ZIG Clean Color Waterbrush Markers to color the embossed pattern. I used the following colors: 041, 052, 025, 070, 064, and 066.

I used the yellow and pink ZIG marker to color one of the birds from the Delicate Hummingbird Duo set. To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the new Flowering Frame Stamp Set, which has several sentiments with this really beautiful font. I used brown ink to tie into the color of the branches. To finish the card, I added some PinkFresh Studio Glitter Drops to the centers of each flower.

And finally, here is the sneak peek of the card that I’ll be sharing next week! This features the new Peeking Duck die. This is similar to some of the other “peeking” dies that Simon offers. CLICK HERE to see a bunch of the other peeking dies that Simon offers.

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Be sure to visit Simon’s website to check out the entire  You Are My Favorite Release.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
