Hello, friends! I am excited to be able to share some cards that I made featuring the brand new Be Bold Release from Simon Says Stamp! This collection features a lot of just about everything – embossing folders, stamp sets, new ink colors and some really fabulous dies, including the Nested Leaves Plate, which is the one that I am featuring today.
I have a new video to share with you, which shows and explains all three cards that I made with the Nested Leaves Plate. For today’s video, you can CLICK HERE to view on YouTube or watch it below.

As you’ll see in my video, there are so many different design combinations that you can make with this die. One thing that I forgot to mention in my video is that this die would make a really fun shaker card! I’ll have to try to do that soon!
For my first card, I popped up all the cutout pieces, or leaves, in multiple colors. Each colored leaf is popped up on two more layers of white leaves. This gives the design a lot of fun dimension. I cut a white circle and stamped the sentiment with black pigment ink. The sentiment comes from the Lots of Luck stamp set.
My next card features a die cut inlay technique, where I added two colors of pink leaves inside the larger negative piece that I had cut from brown card stock. I popped this brown negative piece up on two more layers of negative pieces, so this is the opposite of the first card, where I had popped up the leaves. The “Mom” sentiment is from the new Mamacita Stamp Set, which is one of several Mother’s Day products in the new collection. There are matching dies for this stamp set, but I just stamped the “Mom” in brown ink onto a circle. This Mamacita set does include a “love you” sentiment, but I actually used a smaller “love you” from a different set – the Birthday Basics Stamp Set.
This last card was the easiest, since all I had to do was glue down one of the negative pieces that I had already cut. The bird is one of my favorites – the Layered Warbler. And, I found a sentiment from the Bold Smiles Stamp Set that had a perfect angle to match the bird and fit onto my circle in the middle of the card.
And speaking of the Bold Smiles Stamp Set, I also used a couple of the other sentiments from this set for a card that I made with another new product from the Be Bold Collection. See below for the card that I made using the new Retro Arcs Stencil. I always have fun seeing what other designers have made using the same products, and this stencil is no different. Definitely check out what others have made with this stencil because there is a lot of fun to be had with the negative spaces!
One last card to share today features the new Streaming Embossing Folder. I will have another video soon showing how I made this card and other similar ones. It’s a fun technique, so stay tuned!
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today! Be sure to check out all of the other products that are in the Be Bold release. Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison

Dear Alli –
These Nested Leaves cards are GLORIOUS!! I love them! The other cards you shared are also terrific, but THAT COVER DIE is brilliant! I probably should have ordered it b/c I bet it will sell out.

Thank you, Lori! I always appreciate you leaving a comment ❤️ The die is really fabulous. Simon is usually pretty good at restocking things in a timely manner if they do sell out!
Hello Alison. I bought the nested leaves with your link and I am super enjoying making cards with it. I copied your color scheme at first then branched out to multiple other color designs. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I always know that your approach to products will delight and inspire me — and you always give it 110%! Thank you so much. Oh, at first I thought I wouldn’t pop up three layers but I am so glad I did because it looks awesome. Unfortunately I want that dimension on every card which means a lot more work but that’s OK! Thanks again!!
Thank you so much, Polly, and please forgive my late response. First, I really appreciate you using my link. Second, I am so glad that you were inspired with the cards that I made. That really means a lot to me. And yes, dimension makes such a difference but definitely requires more work!
