For today’s card, I am featuring the new Nested Leaves Plate. You may have already seen the cards that I previously made with this plate. This time, I turned the one plate into a layering die set!

This card was really quite simple to make. It’s all about offsetting the die cuts. I used the die to cut one piece of yellow card stock, two pieces of white card stock, and two pieces of pink card stock. I took one of the white die cut pieces and trimmed it a little above the midpoint. In other words, the piece I was left with was a little taller than half the panel. The reason it has to be more than half is because it has to offset downwards underneath the yellow piece without leaving a gap at the halfway point of the yellow piece. That is also why I cut two pieces of white card stock with the die – because I needed two pieces that were each bigger than half. The second piece of white card stock offsets upwards underneath the yellow piece. Because there is an offset in both directions, there is a little bit of white card stock that hangs out the bottom and top underneath the yellow piece. I just trimmed this excess off. I did use liquid glue on the back of the yellow piece to attach it to the two white pieces.
I made the pink layers the same as the white ones, offsetting them underneath the white pieces in both directions. Once I trimmed the excess pink pieces off the bottom and top, I glued the whole thing on top of a piece of glitter card stock. I then adhered it to a yellow A2 card base.
For the sentiment, I used the Happy Wishes die. I stamped the subsentiment on pink card stock and white heat embossed it. This subsentiment comes from the new Happy Combos set.
