Hello, friends! It’s release day at Spellbinders, and there are so many fun collections, I didn’t know where to start! It’s a bit funny that I started with the Gorgeous You Collection because girly things and makeup are not usually my thing. But as soon as I started die cutting and creating, I found this collection to be so much fun! I am also in the middle of working on some cards with the cutest collection ever, the Little Smiles Collection, and I share a sneak at those projects in my new video. You know that cute things are definitely my thing! I also share the adorable felt critters that I’m making with the new Spring Felt Stitch & Create Collection.

My projects today feature the following products from the Gorgeous You Collection:

As I mentioned above, I do have a new video showing how I made my projects today. You can CLICK HERE to watch on YouTube, or you can view below.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first project is a really fun gift card holder that looks like a little coin purse. It features the Gorgeous You Makeup Bag. You can add this bag to a card base, but it is really fun to create a shaped card, or in this case, a gift card holder. I cut the detail piece from black glossy card stock to mimic the look of black leather or vinyl. The inside color is turquoise, using my favorite Spellbinders color Waterfall. The rest of the details, including the fasteners are all silver card stock.

I created the shaped card using the hinge die that is included in the set. I love how this enabled my gift card holder to open up just like a little purse would. There is a die in the set that creates notches to slip a gift card into, but I thought it would be fun to use this new adhesive gift card pocket. It fit perfectly! There are sentiments in this collection, but I found the perfect stamp set in my stash. It is an older MFT set called Spending Spree that I had never used before, so I was happy to find the perfect use for it.

My second project is a fun card that I think would be perfect for a tween or teen girl. They all seem to love makeup! Middle school may have been the last time I wore makeup! Haha, just kidding. Kind of. But I do remember that I was very into Lancome makeup at that time, and so the black lipstick base and mascara base are reminiscent of the Lancome black that I remember. I used black glossy card stock, of course. I also used the same silver card stock that I used for the details on the gift card holder. These makeup pieces are from the Gorgeous You Makeup set.  These are just some of the many dies included. There are also dies that create an eyeshadow set, a lipgloss tube, a makeup brush and more. The background panel was embossed using the new Cross My Heart 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it to my white card base with the debossed side facing up. Because of the uneven nature of the embossed side, I did use some thin foam tape to attach the panel to the card base. The sentiment is from an older MFT stamp set. To finish the card, I added some small hearts that fit perfectly within the design of the embossing folder.

That’s it for my projects today. I hope they put a smile on your face! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
